Jennifer Lawrence Recreates Iconic Richard Avedon Photo For Vanity Fair

Who wore the snake better? Nastassja Kinski, or Jennifer Lawrence?

  1. I like the Kinski one. Lawrence looks gorgeous though.

  2. I think they both look lovely. People afraid of snakes will probably have some hives from the first one with the snake's head right up in her face.

  3. I don't understand the fear of snakes but don't fault people for it. I always thought Natasha Kinski looked pregnant in that picture.

  4. Damn, I'd forgotten how fucking gorgeous Nastassja was.

  5. I vote Kinski. I know they've retouched photos for ages, but they didn't photoshop people within an inch of their life. They've elongated Lawrence in this photo and take a look at her ribcage. Just below her breast, they've nipped her ribcage in such a way that it she doesn't make contact with the floor. It's an unnatural angle. Stop making women into mannequins!

  7. Both photos are awesome!! Jen's background is too busy and seems to almost overtake the picture, if that makes any sense.

  8. Kinski's black and white photograph is infinitely superior to the color shot of Lawrence. For amazing classic photography you aren't going to get much better than Avedon. Why anyone (other than Avedon) would try to mimic one of his photos is beyond me.

I also agree with what was said before about the lack of excessive photoshopping being better as well. In this day and age there's no way they wouldn't have tried to "tone up" Kinski's belly. One of the big problem with Photoshop is the idiots using it think they know better what a woman's body "should" look like. I hate it! JLaw is very beautiful but that photo is too busy and just okay IMO.

  11. Kinski. the lack of foliage, the placement of the python, less photoshopping and the use of black and white makes it a superior photograph.
