. @JuddApatow I agree wholeheartedly. An un-American act of cowardice that validates terrorist actions and sets a terrifying precedent.

When ass-kissing Hollywood types start talking truth to power (like Sony execs that can squash them, assuming Sony survives), you know it's a bad decision.
1. Aaron Sorkin slams news outlets for reporting on the leaked Sony info.
In an opinion piece for Sunday's New York Times, Sorkin wrote: "I'm not crazy about Americans calling other Americans un-American, so let’s just say that every news outlet that did the bidding of the Guardians of Peace is morally treasonous and spectacularly dishonorable."
Sorkin dismissed any comparison between the studio's leaked files and the Pentagon Papers of the Vietnam era, to which the Sony situation has been likened by some. "There is nothing in these documents remotely rising to the level of public interest of the information found in the Pentagon Papers," he said, adding that Sony had not done anything illegal or worthy of the breach.
Sorkin was dragged into the fray when emails surfaced detailing arguments between Sony co-chairman Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin over the Steve Jobs biopic that Sorkin scripted.
Perhaps Sony felt the risk of releasing the movie wasn't worth a possible terror attack. Imagine the finger pointing if that were to happen. I don't know if they made the right decision, but I understand it.
Okay..Which one? The movie playing in DW SF? Or which theatre in LA or NYC? There are thousands of theatre's where this can open..Impossible for them to get them all. I call bullshit.
Agree. Bullshit to cancelling. I wish somy wld forget dollar signs and throw it up on reg tv so as many people as possible can see it. Keep it off the internet, and dont even publicize its going to be in, just put it on. I also agree, hacking is a crime, and i dont look at any hacked pictures or emails.
Seriously? Do you really want to send your sons, daughters, mothers and fathers to ANOTHER war?! Are Americans really that thick to think North Korea wont retaliate?! Come on people!!! Dust of the brain cells and use them.
I'm not American but I agree with both of them
ReplyDeleteErr..Jimmy was being sarcastic. He was not really agreeing.
DeleteJudd has new movie coming out soon with Amy Schumer! I cant wait to see it!

ReplyDelete"Un-American" implies that the the rest of the world might be ok with this?
ReplyDeleteAaron Sorkin had an interesting take:

ReplyDeleteAnd maybe the threats are that real and that scary. But they dont want to terrify us. Just a thought.
DeleteI bet it ends up straight to video to recoup some of the money.
DeletePut it on Amazon. People will pay.
ReplyDeleteBy totally canceling the movie due to "public safety", insurers will have to pay Sony for the loss. This was a financial decision.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting view point. Think you nailed it. The timing of everything (leaks, threats) is suspicious.
DeletePatience- I should hv known. Thanks for info.

ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm off, but I don't understand the Christmas song/Hanukkah pic.
