Alexa Ray Joel is celebrating her birthday with her family and boyfriend in Turks and Caicos. Here she is pictured with her mother Christie Brinkley. Joel denied boob job rumors earlier this year.
I wouldn't want to stand next to Christie Brinkley while both of us were wearing bikinis. Wow - she looks great. She's 60 years old. I need to get to the gym.
There's not enough gym time in the world to make me look like Brinkley. I don't know if she's had anything done, but if she has, it's minimal and very well done. She still looks like herself.
Damn, it must suck to have a gorgeous mom and being compared all the time. I think there are already a discrete amount of celeb offspring that should come to senses about not being gorgeous but just pretty and instead of tempting modeling careers (which unless you do runway modeling it’s not a real career) and just make some effort to do something significant in other fields, because their last name still can open lot of doors to develop some other skills. Dylan Penn, The Willis girls, Alexa ray, Baldwin girl...are they really that stupid? I mean, their parents excelled in something, why they keep being mediocre and aiming so low in life?
It is amazing how many celebs kids get into the family business. Then end up in a downward spiral because they aren't as talented as their parent(s).
I will say good for Alexa for not having her face surgically altered to become more 'traditionally' beautiful. I think she's absolutely gorgeous. Definitely has her dad's looks and he's was pretty when he was young.
I agree I think she is a beautiful woman, but yes it would be hard to grow up with a beautiful mother and no wonder Chas went male, how would you like your mother to look younger than you are but something so unnatural about all that. I like to hope that Christie is one of those supportive mothers, because if you had the beautiful mother who had to point it out to you that you were inferior all the time, that's where it gets really dark and hurtful. Or like that poor daughter of Donatella her mother isn't even beautiful, never was as far as I remember, the daughter is so much prettier but the rumour is DV undermines her daughter all the time. That's so Freud, mother is threatened by daughter so undermines her.
Alexa reminds me of a mix of Kat Dennings and the B in 23. Damn, Christie Brinkley is 60? I want what she's having!
The OD - it was a homeopathic remedy called "Traumeel" and I remember one of the commenters (a doctor) saying it wasn't really an overdose because it would be like overdosing on water or air. Traumeel has belladonna and echinacea in it but at such diluted levels that it's not considered a hazard. Strange story.
I saw the pics and Alexa Ray looks absolutely beautifully exotic, just gorgeous. I love that floral number shes wearing. And i like that christie, who looks awesome- and heres me, blowing off gym this morning- christie never looks slutty. Wears a coverup in most of pictures. She never tries to outshine her girls. It looks like they are have a great family time. Im a little jealous, lol.
Funny I just got finished reading Ann Patchett's short essay collection and she talks about having a mother so beautiful bag boys would try to kiss her when they were putting the groceries in the car. She wrote about how hard it was on her sisters but also for her mother. Alexa has had a nose job. There are pictures that prove that. She always appeared to be buxom. And hell yeah Christie looks great. Actually look at her first pics when she modeled. Her face was sort of square. Aging only made her look better.
A while ago - on that other site - numerous people said Alexa had undergone plastic surgery to look how she does now. Whatever the case, she looks amazing!! I like it that she isn't blonde like her mother ... she's rocking her own exotic look and it's fabulous.
I think Christie is just happy to have her daughter around for another birthday. I don't give a shit what public excuse she made about her suicide attempt, but doing something like that just doesn't come out of nowhere. She is depressed, so if getting a boob job makes her feel better I say have at it Alexa, but still keep talking to a therapist.
It's strange when you think about it, because look at all the old school Hollywood actors. You never heard Jack shit about their kids except for Sinatra's. Frank Jr. when he was kidnapped and Nancy's lukewarm singing career. True Michael Douglas turned out to be a good actor but he's the exception rather than the rule (same with the Bridges clan).
I wonder what the turning point was for offspring, to make so many of them feel entitled to be famous for nothing? To be famous because their parents had looks or talent or both, even though they did not. Anyone have any theories on that?
I definitely think Christie has had some work, but both of her parents were attractive and aged well. Alexa is not ugly and is attractive, but not in that California blue eyed, blonde, tanned look her mom has.
She seems to be back on her feet after her suicide attempt a few years back. It cannot be easy growing up with such accomplished parents.
