It’s time for #HBBooksFromBed 📚 Today I'd like to celebrate one of my absolute favorite authors #MicheleBorba! I have read all of her books over the years. Her writings have guided me in becoming a more thoughtful, loving and “logged on” Parent. In my humble opinion, Unselfie is one of the most important books of this generation and is a MUST READ! At the end of the day no matter what your race, gender, social economic status or religious briefs, we are all humans and empathy is the most important quality that allows us to feel with others no matter what our differences. Empathy is the key to what keeps our society civilized! Unselfie suggests that empathy is not an inborn trait, but is a learned behavior that will allow adults and especially our children to express more kindness, to experience better social behaviors and poses more moral courage. These qualities are necessary as they fight against bullying, aggression, prejudice and racism. Unselfie thoughtfully teaches 9 essential habits that lead to living life with the empathetic advantage. In this new day of the selfie, where self-absorption is so prominent, possessing empathy and caring about others has never been more important and detrimental to the success of our collective future.
