Turn this lawsuit up to 11! TMZ reports that Harry Shearer is suing Universal Studios' parent company Vivendi for $125 million. See, Shearer, Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Rob Reiner co-created the movie, and Vivendi's accounting on all merchandise shows that the four were only owed $81 for merchandise and $98 for music sales from Spinal Tap up until 2006. Now I'm not great at math, but that sounds like a steaming pile of nope! In addition to the $125 million, Shearer is asking that his production Century of Progress Productions take over the film's trademarks from now on, because clearly Vivendi has no idea what the fuck they're doing.
