Actor David Huddleston, who played the title role in the movie The Big Lebowski, has passed away from heart and kidney disease at the age of 85. Huddleston served in the Air Force, and went to New York to study acting on the G.I. Bill. He considered his crowning achievement to be portraying the role of Benjamin Franklin in the Broadway production of "1776" in 1997. He is survived by his wife Sarah Koeppe.
