Beverly Hills Calls Out Water Wasters

Southern California is still in the midst of a huge drought, so Beverly Hills has taken to publicly shaming water wasters to keep them in line. Among the celebrities called out by The Los Angeles Times: David Geffen, Amy Poehler, and Brett Ratner. Geffen was charged $30,000 for using 1.6 million gallons of water at his property. Ratner's spokesperson told the LA Times that multiple pipe leaks had been found at his property, and he was replacing the entire water line. Or he felt the need to take copious amounts of showers after spending too much time hanging out with Courtney Love. You know, one or the other. A city spokesperson thinks the shaming tactics (and extra financial penalties) are working, as water usage was down in January.
