Here is a story that is being shopped around: A few nights ago, this Singer and his band held a concert. There were a couple of underage girls at the Meet & Greet. The Singer and His Wife (who is a model and a celebrity in her own right) tried to get the girls drunk. The parents of the girls found out, went ballistic, and are now suing the band for preying on innocent underage girls and serving alcohol to minors for nefarious purposes.
Sounds salacious, right? Except… it’s not even close to the truth!
The truth in this case is that there was a concert, but there was no alcohol being served to minors at the Meet & Greet. In fact, the two girls in this story were not even part of the Meet & Greet. The girls and their Mom were privately invited to hang out in the dressing room area with the band and the crew (you’ll understand why in a minute). Everyone was eating and drinking, and The Singer’s Wife walked around offering up shots of tequila. When she got to the girls and their Mom, they begged Mom for permission to do just one shot… but Mom said “No.” When told that the girls weren’t 21 yet, The Singer’s Wife immediately apologized and said that she didn’t realize that they were too young to drink.
So, how do we know that The Singer and His Wife are not “being sued by angry parents for trying to get random underage girls drunk at a Meet & Greet”? Because the person shopping the story around doesn’t realize that the girls’ Mom was actually there…. and that the girls’ Dad is the band’s attorney! Whoops.
It’s interesting, though, that they are shopping around a version that tries to make The Singer and His Wife look as bad as possible. Some unreliable media outlet will probably run it. At least you’ll know the truth.
