I'm weepy today and I don't know why. Saw the post about the Mrs. Doubtfire musical and I lost it for a few minutes. I think the crying jag kinda helped though...if that makes sense?
Not a care in the world as I'm on a hammock wiping beads of sweat off my brow, crystal clear blue sky and 80 degrees on a private island somewhere in the Bahamas.
Drive safe cheese. WARNING to anyone who may have gotten a Rachel Ray set of pots and pans for the holidays (I know, I know) my new boss got them. Apparently they come with an 'extra bonus' potato peeler. According to her it's sharper than any knife in her kitchen. How does she know? She allowed her 5 yr old to help mommy peel potatoes the other night and now he's going to need a skin graft on his finger :( So just wanted to let my peeps know to beware.
Yeah, I can't even imagine. When she was telling me about it she kept saying "I can't believe I kept my cool like I did. There was so much blood.." He'll keep the finger, so that's good. But the poor little guy probably won't be offering to help mommy with cooking anytime soon. Just more surprised than anything that it's so sharp. The potato peeler I have isn't too sharp, it's more of a chore than anything to peel. This one though, she said it's pretty fierce.
I don't mind driving in the snow, as long as I'm driving a standard v automatic. I just feel like with being able to shift gears you have more control, ya know? Then again when it comes to poor conditions (rain/snow) I turn into a 'Sunday driver' and become 80 yrs old :) It's sloooow going. I mentioned that to her (she isn't insured). She should at least call the company and let them know. I very seriously doubt they would want this kind of PR.
Just remember if you hit a slick spot put it in neutral and pump the brakes. Dress in layers and keep a blanket, some water and snacks in your trunk. I don't miss that snowy weather at all. Be safe guys!

This morning I heard the weather forecast for the east. It sounds so scary. I know I joke around about SoCal weather, but bad weather (like a little mist) seriously freaks me out. Please be careful everyone being affected.

Unfortunately, it's going to replace the easy-to-use desktop version, which is being retired. It's too early to determine how this will all turn out but things don't look promising from the beta version.
It's seemed for a long time that the owners have been trying to destroy the site: constant Primetime, capricious and inexplicable deletions of innocuous threads, etc.
As a new englander, thanks for your concern!! Already snowing. Mr liddy and i got some essential supplies this am- great muffins( the size of a baby's head, lol), dove chocolate, milk and dark, cookies, chips- oh and meat and bread. Got plenty of reading material, firewood and all electronics charged and have charger that is self contained. Shovels ready. And of course mr liddy❤️ Everyone be safe!!!!
@auntlicky, roughly where are you in New England? Metro Boston here, and expecting anywhere from 20" to 3 feet, depending on which forecast you believe. I've got pretty much all the reasonable supplies, and if the power stays on *fingers crossed* I plan to do some baking and make a nice beef stew. Don't know what it is, but there's something about stormy weather that makes me want to hit the kitchen and start cooking/baking...but first, a nap. Zzzzzzz....

I'm grateful that I live on the west coast, not the east coast. Yesterday it was 60 degrees and sunny here in Seattle, and my bulbs are already starting to come up. Global warming is causing so much freakish weather. Stay safe folks.
It figures. Tom being Tom. Did it before, doing it now. I've see Angels and Airwaves a couple of times and really like them. And Tom has this whole vision/merchandising concept behind AVA. So really that was his true priority. When he went back to Blink it just didn't seem to jell. Maybe too much artistic water under everyone's bridge. Whateves, still got the old stuff.
Fighting this cold that has returned and settled in my chest. Dog sitting the SIL/MIL dog and avoiding work. Wishing all those that have to suffer through another snowmageddon to be safe!
The whole east coast bad weather thing is so bizarre because we're suppose to getting weather in the mid 70's here in Texas for the first 2/3 of the week. Last week we had cold rain for 3 days straight but that's about it for cold weather here.
In Manitoba, we are experiencing wacky weather. One year ago it was -45 and we were having a blizzard. On Saturday it was +1 today a cooler -4 and for tomorrow the forecast says +4 - and for all of you in the east, stay warm, stay inside and stay safe
Wish everyone in the east coast is safely tucked away home now. In upstate New York here, it's all quiet at the western front of the state. Please stay warm everyone, snuggle with your loved ones and/or pets. Enjoy spending time together and get ready for all the baby showers in August and September.
I WANT to feel bad for all of you on the east coast, but I'm having a hard time of it. :) It's been above freezing here all week, when it's normally -15ish, or much much colder. I hope you all stay safe, but you can keep winter there.
I am loving the blizzard. No work today and probably tomorrow. Still can't get down to the Common and stalk Jim Cantore's fine ass. I want to play Hide the Barometer with him so bad.
Waiting on the blizzard. I wish they'd let us go home now. Traffic is going to be a nightmare.

I have an awesome peeler that I can side to top and tail my carrots. It's great but I wouldn't let my nephews use it.
