All-Female Ghostbusters Cast Announced

The all-female reboot of Ghostbusters is going full steam ahead, because The Hollywood Reporter has just announced its cast! The movie will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Saturday Night Live's Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Paul Feig will be directing the movie; his other directing credits include Bridesmaids, The Heat, and several episodes of The Office. The movie is slated to shoot this summer in New York City, with a release date of July 22, 2016. What do you think of the cast?

  1. You just knew it would have Melissa and Wiig in it. I did the female version of the Odd Couple for dinner theatre. It's not as funny as one would think and I'm sure this won't be either.

  2. I know this will seem like a crazy, kooky, out of this world idea, but how about we stop with the remakes and endless sequel shit and come out with some quality original movies? This endless rehash of material is mind-numbing. I mean did we really need a Bewitched movie? How many Hangover and Pirates of the Caribbean movies must we endure? Is Hollywood so devoid of creative writing that we must be subjected to super hero movies and remakes of 60s TV programs and movies like the Adams Family and Stepford Wives.

    1. Next will be Top Gun with Kristen Wiig as Ice, Melissa McCarthy as Tommy Girl, Lena Dunham as Goose.

I literally just dry-heaved thinking about that.

  11. Might have worked if they got in some non SNL comedic females or hire some of the older funny retired SNLers that are still alive.

  13. I think it's awesome, because now normal people are getting to feel what it's like for us old movie geeks every time some modern hack fucks up a genuine textbook classic (ie pre-film to 1969) film with a bastardized satanic remake.
