Work. My boss is not in a good mood. Good of course being subjective. Ever know the type of person who is only happy when they are miserable? Yeah. Only her miserable is contagious. I have found the silver lining, however! You see, I learned today that I can type without a head. Considering she's bitten it off 5 times already. Joking aside, just waiting ro get off work soon and getting together with the bf to break out the mini grill and do steaks and potatoes for dinner :) Hanging out with him always makes the day better.
I will :) Sometimes it takes the rain to appreciate the sunshine, ya know? Sorry for griping my friends. It's just...unbelievable at times. She's verbally lashing everyone for not doing their job quickly etc and then dumbass sends me farmville requests about 3 minutes later. She works hard for the money. So hard for the money. You better treat her right (that's right!) <3 hope you are both having a wonderful day :)
Ahahaha! He actually is mistaken for that Javier Bardem fella at work all the time. I'm ashamed to say I've never seen one of his movies. A lady followed him home from work one day because she was convinced it was him doing some sort of undercover method acting stuff or something. And.Then.She.Met.Me. Pretty sure at that point she decided stalking 'maybe' celebs wasn't a good idea.
BR I had a similar boss from hell once. She finally got fired for embezzling a few years back, and now her firing anniversary is a company holiday. Each year, we close on that day (with pay!). I still have dreams about that evil b*tch, though. Hugs to you.
I had a boss like that once. Her nickname was "Sybil" because you never knew what personality you were going to get. I feel your pain. Enjoy your dinner and take a mental vacation!
I am so sorry Snarky. Easy is never a word I would use to describe it, but the pain does kind of...fade a bit. The memories, though. That's what you hold on to.
Snarks- i thought i commented on this so if double, sorry. My mom died, like 3-4 yrs later my dad died, and i tell you that selling their house was like losing a third parent. All hugs to you, it will smooth out after a while.
Snarky, it does get better, but there are times when the sadness or longing creeps back and smacks you. My mom died in 2007 and, on occasion, I still find myself thinking I should call her. But on the whole, I find myself thinking of things or being reminded of her by a certain word or situation or memory and smiling to myself. It's like a little nudge from her in Heaven.
Sending you positive thoughts at this challenging time.
auntliddy is right. I couldn't wait to unload my parent's place after they died. Being there, without them, was just too sad for me. I found it cathartic. Hope you will (in time) too.
Trust me, it never gets easier, but you start to forget the fact that hey are gone and instead start thinking back on the past more and it helps a lot. I lost my Mom in Dec. of 2012 and not a day goes by that I don't miss her, but things like seeing my nieces work on those pot holder looms (you can get them at Walmart that use the loops of cloth to make the pot holsers or pencil cases with) because they used to do them with Grandma makes everything better. You'll always miss her, but as long as you can remember her and things she did still matter, she'll always be there with you. Hugs to you (And here's your membership card to the "Dead Mom Club" you get 15% off any one item on the Casa Bonita menu with it and a free Ice Cream Taco on your birthday. Sorry, it was a stupid thing my brother and I came up with the day our Mom passed away to just be stupid and have a laugh. Our Mom would've gotten a kick out of it)
My oldest son has been having a hard time sleeping lately, both at night and during his nap, but today he fell asleep in my lap and I'm enjoying every second of it (and using the quiet time to catch up on all the gossip I've missed!)
Out and about in snowy NE. First i waitd in car while mr liddy went in bookstore. I cant go in bookstores without coming out with 7 books, greeting cards and 5 magazines, so i stay out, lol. Then we ate at Olive Garden- tasty. Now waiting in car again while mr liddy peruses his hobby store. Already blew off brief shopping run with tomorrows another day, lol.
It would seem our afternoon project consists of taking the double doors off of Mom and Dad's bedroom. Dad has repeatedly crashed into them in his Hoveround and they're hanging on by a thread. I wish they'd show THAT on those commercials for the Hoveround. Dad's also ripped a foot long gash in the hallway drywall from his hot rod driving in that damn chair. Where's the Property Brothers when you need them? Hell, just Jonathan would be cool.
I am so sorry for laughing out loud but thank you for that. All I can picture is a new movie coming out titled Hoveround 2015-The true Menace (to be released on Halloween, of course)
Yup min pin, you had me at doors hanging. I used one of those at disney, and we never laughed so hard at its wiley ways!! Thanks for the laugh out loud, i needed it!
In some ways I had thought one would be nice for Mom, but you've talked me out of it. She'd be mowing down people not walls. She's awful with the cart in the grocery store.
Calif- i dont how many people i plowed into at disney because when you lift you hand to stop, it still rolls forward. I will say that most people shove into and walk right in front of you. Really its amazing. So at one point we took disney raft or boat someplace and when i went to get off, i cldnt back up vehicle up over the ramp, and there was no personal around. Finally mr liddy becomes highly annoyed, and says let me sit in the goddam chair and back it up. He hits power hard, cart jumps up over ramp- and the bumper falls off!!( it snaps right back on). But his face and use of creative cursing had my adult daughter and son laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes! And the whole time he's roughly handling cart to replace bumper and calling it every name in the book. Godam miserable pos was one i can share, whole we laughed. So maybe they are good for a laugh, lol
@MinPin & @Aunt Licky: Both of your descriptions were hilarious! Even if they didn't start out that way. I think it gave a lot of us a much needed laugh. :-)
Those chairs are totally a menace at nursing homes too. A chair rider ran into my father in law and dented his walker. He's lucky he had a walker to protect him. The mother in law of a man at church (image a stooped-over ninety year old) was seriously injured when she was hit by a motor-chair. One resident used to crash the dinner table every day trying to situate himself. The other people at that table would hold their silverware up with one hand and their coffee up with the other to avoid being injured by knives, forks, and boiling beverages being knocked into their laps while the guy smashed into the table 2-3 times before getting it right. Medicare helps you get a chair, someone needs to help train people how to drive them!
That's great that you were able to treat yourself Sophie :) I hadn't heard of those candles, are they really good with filling up the room with a neat smell and lasting a long time? At $30 a candle I would hope so
Work.

I say, "Off with her head!"
DeleteSteak and taties. Mmmm. Enjoy them and your man! Forget the haggy one!

DeleteSee all I'm picturing now is the Charming Tater dancing in front of your grill cooking steaks (yeah I'm reading these backward).

DeleteI accepted an offer on my mom's house. I should be happy, but it just reminds me she's gone.
ReplyDeleteThis gets easier, right?
Oh, hugs, Snarky.
DeleteWish I could say it gets easier. I think you just...get kinda-sorta used to, but not really?
Sorry Snarky, that's got to be so hard.
DeleteThat's tough Snarky, good that you got an offer but hard to be reminded. You just gotta concentrate on moving forward.

DeleteThank you all. Some days it's not as bad--others are bloody awful. This was the latter, unfortunately. Your support means a lot to me.

DeleteI ate the frosting off two chocolate donuts all before 8:30 this morning. I've accomplished a lot.
