When Madonna was yanked by her cape down three stairs at the Brit Awards, the singer suffered whiplash and smacked the back of her head. Madonna told Jonathan Ross, "there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3am, making sure I was still conscious." As for Armani, the cape's designer, he places the blame squarely on Madonna. Page Six quotes Armani as saying, "Madonna, as we know, is very difficult. This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it."
I wondered if she had hit her head when she fell. I'm not a Madonna fan, but that fall looked scary.
ReplyDeleteMadonna's very lucky that whiplash is all she got. It looked like a nasty fall and she really could have broken her neck. And what's with the bitchy quote from Armani?
ReplyDeleteThat headline should read:Madonna got loads of publicity from Brit Awards.(and so did Armani so everybody wins)
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a brutal fall. No fan if hers but props for soldiering on.
ReplyDeleteAll I could think of when I saw that fall, was Mark Walberg's fall in the movie Rockstar. When Walberg finally has his dream come true, singing with Steel Dragon and he enters and takes a header down those stairs. Even though it was a movie it looked fucking horrifying. Plus that's about the only thing I do remember from that movie.
ReplyDeleteIRL Patti Smith took a much worse fall from the stage in 1977 where she did break her neck. For whatever reason, Madonna's fall looked embarrassing but not that serious (IMO). Then again I've had whiplash several times and survived.
Rock star. The movie I love to hate!! Still watch the damn thing every time I come across it on cable though!!!
DeleteAlmost makes up for the assault of her vocals on my ears fir the last twelve decades.
ReplyDeleteGrandama fell. Get the hip replacement ready
Yes she did hit the back of her head and it's actually easy to get whiplash. It's no fun but you heal. Mad props for her professionalism.
ReplyDeleteYep, very catty and uncalled for. The truth of the matter is, even we plebs would have to be looked after if we hit our head that hard. Concussions are srs bsns. No need to toss shade her way, bitch though she may be.
ReplyDeleteWow, Armani sure is a classy one, huh? Freak accidents happen all the time, she was lucky.
ReplyDeleteI think it was a very nasty fall. She carried on though.
ReplyDeleteShe did however share this with Jonathon Ross !!!!
I think the biggest reason this story didn't make me overly concerned is Madonna said she got whiplash. I'm not a doctor but I've had whiplash and nobody had to shine a flashlight in my eyes all night to make sure I was alive. If I'm not mistaken isn't she talking about a concussion? Those are two completely different things.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying she didn't have both happen, but in my book a concussion sounds a lot more dangerous than whiplash. It seems like she was throwing around the word whiplash like that was the bigger of the two, yet was describing the precaution treatment for concussion. . I'm sorry but with all the self hype and grabbing for attention by celebs, it's hard to know when to take what they say as legit or exaggeration.
MPG all the attention seeking. When do celebs grow up??
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have yet, but looking for attention isn't my thing.
Laughing & smiling with my cheeks though :)
