Mariah Carey Signing On For Las Vegas Residency

Just call it the rejuvenation of Mimi! In the grand tradition of Britney Spears and Celine Dion, Mariah Carey is signing on for a residency at Caesars Palace. Page Six reports that the contract is still in negotiations, but that Carey is expected to net more than Britney Spears' $30 million deal. Carey could be singing at Caesars before the 2015 holiday season.

    Why don't Caesar's owners/managers just shot themselves now. It is only a matter of time before that mess starts missing shows (illness), stumbling through shows. Can't see her being professional enough to honor that type of commitment. She is not a pro like Celine. Brit had her minders take care of everything.

      tr.. i'm thinking a "normal schedule" a la bertney will give mariah the push she needs to get her shit together.. not just for herself but for her kids and her career.. her "test run" for caesars executives at the beacon theater in nyc b4 christmas for the most part went well, she went on, on time and pulled no diva antic shit.. mariah is watching jlo and everyone else get jobs staying relevant and mimi is aware she needs to be doing some shows every few months to keep up her relevancy and maybe hopefully straighten her shit out..

      "idle time is the devil's hands" right??
      maybe a regimented schedule in vegas and being 45 min flight from la where nick will be with the kids...
      theres a lot we don't know about their divorce behind the scenes here...
      the fact that nick had the kids for christmas and not mimi makes me think nick is getting full custody and using mimi's well documented drunkeness pill use and overall checking out of parental duties when it suits her and let's not forget constant firing of the nannies when the kids start to like them..

      me thinks mimi knows nick is getting full primary custody and will have them primarily in la so she is taking a gig in las vegas to keep her close to her kids and provide a "cover" to why nick has primary custody...
      just my thoughts.. i know i tend to ramble but there is more to this b/w those 2
      just watch.. nick will get primary in la and mimi will have the perfect cover to relocate to la/ lv..

      It appears to be booze and pills (probably both uppers and downers). She's so far in her addiction that she needs to address that. She doesn't strike me as the 'high functioning' addict type...

      This is sad to me because of the kids. MeMe! Needs to get her shit together for their sake and hers. Addicts are notoriously selfish.... thinking of others would be a positive first step. I don't see that happening, do you?

      I agree with Texas and think that Sugar is right on what someone in Mariah's camp is thinking re her and the kids PR wise. If Nick gets them full time that will be a PR disaster for her. The gig in Vegas gives her an excuse for him having the kids.

      The BI about the woman who woke up just as her children were going to bed wouldn't go over well with social workers.

    First off, I sure hope that stage is no longer at an angle. Mimi can't move very well as we all know. Having the elbow holders all around her during a concert might not work.

    Secondly, that stage is HUGE, again Mimi can't move very well and standing in one place the whole time is going to seriously piss-off 3/4 of the theater. That skinny ass Celine practically ran all over the stage, no way could Mariah handle that.

    That being said, I'd buy a ticket to see Mariah. But, it would have to be at one of the half-price booths.

      I saw her in San Diego and she can get away with that crap in a smaller venue. The Caesar's venue is too big. She's going to need a lot of muscle men to carry her around that stage. Just walking from backstage to center stage would be too much for Mimi.

    Exactly, lady. Whole shiw built up and around mimi, with dubbed in sound so if she make it, she will fake it. Put her on some fluffy bed, comfy chairs, a mermaid suspended while dancers surrond her- it can all be done without her moving around, which of course is to be avoided at all costs, lol. I wldnt go see any of these women, but hey if thats your thing, enjoy. Now Cher i wld go see. Shes got that routine down pat! And we all know the songs.

    Damn. I was really really hoping Wendy Williams was right and that Mariah was going to do her residency in Atlantic City. I already told my husband if she got the gig in AC that we are SO going, to which he replied, "Wouldn't you go to that with your sisters and your gays?" Ah, my husband knows me so well.

    Hold up a minute. I know Mimi is in a bit of a spiral these days, but is she an addict?!? She seems more in the throes of a meltdown to me. I don't know.

    Eminem has opined on booze and pills and addiction. She's certainly had tremendous struggles with mental stability. GLITTER.

    IMHO she's an addict. But I don't suggest it lightly or make a habit of classifying folks as such in general.

    I hope it is just a rough patch. Sadly, I don't think it is.
