Chris Pratt is Hasty Pudding's Man of the Year
Last week, you learned that Amy Poehler was Harvard's pick for this year's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year. Harvard has finally announced their male pick: Chris Pratt. Pratt had a breakout year in 2014, when he starred in Guardians of the Galaxy. The Hollywood Reporter states that Pratt can next be seen on the big screen in this summer's Jurassic World.
Parks and Recreation is going out with a bang, it seems.
ReplyDeleteNow is this a good thing? And what about the Razzies? Im confused!
ReplyDelete@auntliddy: hasty pudding is the Hahvard way of acknowledging true talent, it goes back to 1890something.
DeleteThe Razzies are like the Hasty Pudding in reverse, it acknowledges the worst talent exhibited in a year. The original term is The Golden Raspberries - raspberries being that weird fart noise you make with your mouth - which a perfect joke. "Here's an award - pfffffft!"
Oh and Razzies are not put on by a college, I think that's where the confusion comes in. It was started by a guy who had the idea of having an "opposite day" awards ceremony where it was "best actor" but "worst actor", etc., at his pre-Oscar dinner parties.
DeleteYes AuntLicky. That the good award although doesn't he have to dress like a girl to receive it?
ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit in love with him. Or Andy Dwyer. I'm not exactly sure which.
