Sarah Michelle Gellar Calls Out Freddie Prinze Jr on His Bullshit

In a tale as old as time, a wife called out her husband for being a lying liar who lies. US Magazine reports that Gellar told an audience at the 4th annual Santa's Secret Workshop at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood that despite Prinze's Twitter claim that "Learnin to walk again is like learning jiu-jitsu" he has always been able to walk. "He’s fine. He did have very serious surgery, there’s no question, but his 'learning how to walk again' has been greatly exaggerated."

For shame, Freddie Prinze Jr!

  1. Idk she seems like the type who would tell you to put a bandaid on a severed limb.

    1. @Teresa I thought the same thing. He needs a time out in his playpen.

  3. Ouch! Unless she meant it as a joke along the lines of how guys are on death's door when they have a cold ...

    1. The article in the link made it sound like she was teasing or eye rolling the whole thing so I think she's fine.

    2. That was my thought as well.

  4. And you're walking as soon as you wake up. Period. It's not 1867.
It's very, very easy to verify what standard of care is.

  5. Kno, I'm a member of that club too. I had to use a walker but was walking within a day or two without help. Such bullshit.

I was wrong in thinking she was the drama queen in that relationship. Calling him out in public though does seem kind of mean.

  6. I would probably call my husband out too, mainly because I'm just that kind of gal.

  7. I guess it depends if he does this shit all the time. It gets tiresome after a while.
    uh......*Wonder Spines Align*?

  8. What wife or long term partner doesn't downplay the hubby's sickness and injuries?
    Sounds like marriage to me.

  9. Ya, I wondered about his learning to walk comment, but didn't care enough to ask. I don't care for SMG, but I think it's hilarious she called him out on his drama.

  10. Katy, i think she did it to downplay seriousness. They prob loaded with calls and such. I dont know almost anything about this type of surgery besides it sounds scary so i really cant comment. Mb after surgery it FELT like learning to walk again because his center of gravity was different now. Or mb they downplaying so he can still get work.

  11. Yeah sounds like she just did a verbal eye roll in an article when they asked about it.

  12. She also seems like the type who doesn't like her husband (or anyone) getting more attention than her. I thought it was said she was a high maintainence drama queen. I STILL can't imagine having a husband that wants to wear diapers and act like a baby. That's creepy in my book.

  13. She seems like she keeps his balls in her purse. I have a friend like that. LOL

  14. I would do it too. Men are such drama queens. Always exaggerating their illnesses.

  15. In my late 20's I had spinal surgery also, a c-spine fusion (thanks again to the a-hole texting while driving). I totally agree with @Kno and @katydid about FPJ's pathetic whining. He needs to visit a rehab center where spinal cord injury patients really will never walk again and start counting his blessings.

On the flip side, my husband had L-spine fusions the following year (muchas gracias drunk old man going for a joyride at 9am on a Tuesday). If he got too dramatic or bitchy I would call him out in private, but never in front of an audience. Buffy Summers should have just said something like, "He's recovering well and will be fine, he's lucky", then bitched at him in private like a proper wife should. It's never good in a relationship to put down your S.O. in front of a crowd.

Seems like he needs to toughen up and she needs to soften. If they can do that and meet in the middle, this could be a celeb marriage that may go the distance. Btw, Kno and katydid, I really hope you both are doing well with your injuries and recovery. I honestly do count my own blessings, but I understand sometimes it does suck.

    1. Thanks Erica! Totally agree with your assessment of them. It's different for everyone but I was very lucky. L4/L5 fusion in 2007, ran a half marathon in 2012. I am a stubborn betch.

  16. You don't call out your spouse in public like that, even if you think he is whining. I broke a hip a few years ago, and while theoretically I was walking (with a walker mind you) a few days later, it FELT like I would never walk properly again. Of course, I never had access to twitter to let those tiny little doubts out without thinking first.

  17. I had a very recent surgery on my C4 - C7 and previously on my L4 - L5. I wasn't nearly as bad as other's, but was advised to get a fusion (I passed too scared). But yes, I was ready to smack him for the 'learning to walk again' statement. Wha your diaper get stuck up there? Gimme a break dickweed!

  18. She needs to spank him and put him back in his crib.
