Celebrity Real Estate - Matt Damon Sells Florida Home
Matt Damon has finally sold his Miami mansion for $15.4 million. He originally bought the property for $14.5 million back in 2005. The home has seven bedrooms, and nine bathrooms, and was built in 1935. See pictures of the property here.

The interior is sterile. I felt uncomfortable even looking at some of the photos. I can't imagine what I'd feel like if I lived there. Taking a bath in that cold, cavernous bathroom, with the tub in the middle? The kitchen & dining room look like it's part of a conference centre.

ReplyDeleteAs to the decor being warm and friendly- i dont think most of these stars ever lived in these houses. They just buy them for nvestments, so they dont care what they look like.
ReplyDeleteBoy this is stark..bedroom looks like a bed in a ballroom. I thought he lived in Miami..doesn't he? Or at least keep his family there.
ReplyDeleteFor 15.4K it's not too impressive. I'd have gotten the Property Brothers in there to fix a few things like all that wasted space in the bathroom, that gross kitchen counter granite and the overall fugly colors. He probably could have gotten a lot more with a few changes and better furniture staging.

Exterior and landscaping are fine. Interior looks like a "fancy" motel.

ReplyDeleteWhen you're asking $20m for a property, you have it staged. So, quit with the comments on the furniture. Matt must have lost money on this. Property taxes are huge here, as is insurance. And although I know brokers don't get 3% on a $15m property, that's still a chunk of change he handed to the broker.

The furniture still sucks - regardless of why it is there or who owns it. So what if it is staged. It looks awful. Staging is supposed to show a home in its BEST light.

ReplyDeleteMy mother's second condo is in the JAX brewery in the French Quarter of NOLA. Not Palm Beach. It's not a good area or a safe one. But a beautiful view and within a few blocks of Rouses.
Nice architecture, but you could fortune them by withholding color that much.
ReplyDeleteHe bought that house in 2005, the height of the real estate market here in South Florida. He's lucky he's finally able to turn a slight profit.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried about the architectural integrity of the interior – with a house of that age, it should have a lot more interesting features than these pictures are showing. It looks like a big generic modern bore.
