Ryan Gosling is Too Sexy for People

According to Page Six, Ryan Gosling wants you to know that he could have been People's Sexiest Man Alive if he wanted to, but he said no. Multiple times. Because Ryan Gosling is "too serious" and "too artsy" for People. People's editorial director says that there is no truth to this assertion, and that he has never been offered the title.

      Pardon moi - the film is spelled Cherí. Michelle Pffeifer, Rupert Friend & Kathy Bates set in 1900's Belle Époque Paris. Michelle plays an aging courtesan. She agrees to take on Rupert (Cherí) as a lover. A must watch for Rupert Friend fans.

    For some reason pictures are turning up wrong on my iPad. I got Brody Jenner's Instagram photo on the Diem Brown story, and now I'm getting her boyfriend's photo of her and the rosary beads on this story.

    Charlie from SOA would have been better.

      Yes! I agree!!! Ryan Gosling gives me the heebie jeebies. There's something very disturbing about him. He looks like how I imagine a serial killer would look. Yuck. Do NOT, for the life of me, understand the fascination w/ him. /shudder/

    I like him. The Notebook was not a great movie but the chemistry between the four leads made it happen. I loved him in Crazy Stupid Love, when Emma Stone asked if his abs were photoshopped and when he chucked Steve Carrell's shoes away.

    There are two versions of the story, BTW. The other version is that he didn't say it, it was the people behind the Sexiest Man cover negotiations that said it. NYDN:

    “They tried a few times, especially during his huge year in 2011,” said an insider privy to the cover negotiations. Gosling’s team reportedly also “squashed” efforts to discuss putting the star on the cover and now they're covering their collective butts.

    Ultimately, despite his fervent fan base, “the consensus was he's too serious for it, too artsy,” the source added.

    As for People, the magazine’s editorial director told The Wrap it awaited the day when Gosling was its “sexiest” cover star.

    I think Ryan is a wildly talented actor which makes him sexy. I usually only go for guys with brown eyes, but Ryan would be an exception.

    He was pretty out there (creepy) in Lars and the Real Girl. I haven't been particularly interested in his movies, but he sounds like a pretty good guy. He rescued his dog so that gets him points in my book. Why he didn't drop stinky twat before she got pregnant (or get a vasectomy if he didn't want kids) mystifies me I admit.

    I don't know why but I've never been a fan of him. Looks wise, I prefer the other Ryan. As in Ryan Reynolds. But for sexiest man alive... I would have gone with Charlie Hunnam.
