Sitting here wondering how I became my mother. I was out on Friday and Saturday nights dancing to disco (Rick James, Chic, Prince, Donna Summer, Bee Gees) and having a marvelous time. And now I'm bemoaning skimpy costumes and gyrating, twerking nubile females. Kids these days!
Karen W. - I wanna have sleepovers at YOUR place.. damn gurl, your weekend sounds euphoric to me...(o'course I did ask Santa for a Kareoke Machine soooo,....)
@rolotomassi: The disco reference was to my clubbing days in the late 70s & early 80s. These days, I'm in bed by the hour that I used to be just hitting the clubs.
Life has thrown those closest to me some curveballs lately, but we're trying hard to work through it. There should be a moratorium on bad news during the holidays.
dear cali, you might be amazed & actually befuddled by the never before feelings felt ,if that makes any sense..& the clarity of it all-never so present & appreciative & ...dare I say happy- just f**ckin' kick the bad news in it's ass & kick it away.."just for today...& then the next day..& then the next- I was never content w/just for today myself"...when you can... I've been there at this exact time..& basically, there are no rules-do exactly & say exactly what you FEEL like doing & saying..... & then dance again...a lot... : ) -I ramble, you just brought me back... hugs to you.
Recuping from cold/ laundry/ getting stuff together to go to my daughters for t- giving/ hoping weather forecasts are wrong/ and i banged my knee, im icing it. Because why not? When it rains it pours.
I spent all day at the hospital. My allergies to a certain type of wood that my Dad mistakenly burned last night caused me to literally go blind for a while today. My eyes were completely blood red, swollen to the point of being closed and watering so much it looked like I spent the day crying. Sucked ass since I was out of epinephrine.
I'm thinking about procrastinating, but I haven't decided quite yet.
