Dancing With the Stars Pro Allison Holker Is Pregnant

Us Weekly reports that Dancing With the Stars pro Allison Holker, 27, is expecting a baby with husband Stephen "tWitch" Boss." The magazine quotes her as follows: “It’s something that we have wanted for so long, and now it’s actually happening and it feels like the biggest blessing. My daughter is so ecstatic about being a big sister. Every single day since we told her that we were having a baby, she helps take care of me! It’s the most adorable thing.”

On competing on Dancing With the Stars while pregnant:
“[My doctor and I] had a really serious conversation about it and I explained to her everything that I have to do and asked if she thought I’d be okay. She said, ‘Absolutely, your body is already used to you being this active.’ She was really confident about it and that made me feel so comfortable.”

Shia LaBeouf Arrested For Being A Drunk

TMZ reports that Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Austin, Texas for being a drunk sloppy mess in public aka misdemeanor public intoxication. Shia and a woman tried to go to a bar, but they were so drunk already that the bar wouldn't let them in. Since rules don't apply to Shia, he tried valiantly to charge his way in, but forgot that he wasn't making a movie, so his lack of brute force didn't work. Then he decided it would be a good idea to jaywalk in front of cops and act a fool, hence the arrest. I would say "Get it together," but I don't know if that's realistic. How about, "Keep it to James Franco levels!"

Blind Gossip Blind Item - Birthday As A Plot Line

This pregnant celebrity is claiming that she is due on a specific date.

Not true. We found out that her due date is actually not even close to the date she is promoting!

However, in true publicity-seeking fashion, she wants the date to be as memorable as the birth itself, so that’s what she is telling everyone.

How much can you manipulate a delivery to fit a specific date?

Kate Winslet Talks Turning 40

Kate Winslet recently sat down for an interview with Netaporter's The Edit, where she talks about turning 40. The magazine quotes her as follows:

"I feel like the past two years have been different for me, deliberately so. I really wanted to mix it up a bit, and feel that I was going full pelt towards 40 having done as much as I could: pushed myself, challenged myself, exhausted myself, had as much fun as possible. The last two years of my life have put a different sort of rocket fuel up my backside...Anyway, I don’t feel old. I feel excited about being 40.

You can get away with a lot more in your twenties. You can get away with having one too many vodka tonics, and you can wake up in the morning and not have a puffy face. I couldn’t go out now and get rip-roaring drunk; I’d take a week to recover and I value my life too much. Plus, I have children. Confidence comes with age, and looking beautiful comes from the confidence someone has in themselves."

Gail Zappa Has Died

Gail Zappa, the widow of Frank Zappa, has passed away at the age of 70. She is survived by the couple's four children: Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet, and Diva. The Zappa Family Trust released the following statement: "Gail enthusiastically executed her role as guardian of her husbands creative life and, with his passing, strove to ensure his legacy as one of the leading American composers and musicians of the 20th century. In this and all business endeavors, Gail passionately advocated to establish clear definitions of intellectual property and copyright laws on behalf of not just her husband, but all artists. While she conducted intricate legal negotiations with corporations as grande dame of the Zappa Family Trust, she never failed to impart the sense of humor that was part and parcel of her indomitable and formidable personality. Gail, self-described as a pagan absurdist, was motivated by love in all aspects of her life, kept her authenticity intact, unbowed and, simply put, was one bad ass in the music business and political world.

Gail will forever be identified as a key figure in the creative renaissance that is Laurel Canyon. But more than any singular accomplishment, she defined herself in her personal relationships, happiest when surrounded by loved ones and artists, often one and the same. The memories she leaves behind are indeed her own art form. Her searing intelligence, unforgettable smile, wild thicket of hair and trailing black velvets leave a blur in her wake."

FKA Twigs Talks Fans

FKA Twigs recently sat down for an interview with Paper Magazine, where she opened up about her fans. The magazine quotes her as follows:

“I think Taylor Swift is great, but I wouldn't necessarily think, ‘Oh my god, I have to be friends with her.’ When I meet fans, they're quite creative and intelligent, kind, sensitive. Some are old ladies, witch doctors from Louisiana, kids that have just left art school. Gay or lesbian couples, straight middle-aged couples...I'm honest, and that comes out. I’m not affected by what fans would think, or by people critiquing what I do. [I’m not doing it for] the children of the world; I mean the children that I haven't had yet. I'm quite traditional. You know that saying, ‘You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl?’ I grew up in Gloucestershire, and there's a certain format that people fit into. And I'm actually quite happy with that format. I'm quite happy to say, ‘Go to school, work hard on your GCSEs, do your A-Levels, get married, have children.

I just like working hard and learning things. I do this because I want my children to have a nice life, and I want my children's children to have a nice life. And I want my grandkids to be proud of what I've achieved. And I want to be a role model, but not for the world. I don't mind about that — that'll come or it won't come. It's no different from being a car salesman. Imagine if I said to a car salesman, ‘Why are you doing that?’ [They'd say] ‘Cause I want to work hard, and I want to have a nice life, and when I have kids, I want to be able to buy a house.’ It's still the same values.”

Taylor Swift Talks Nicki Minaj Feud

Another day, another feud for Taylor Swift. Swift recently sat down for an interview with NME magazine, where she talked about her feud with Nicki Minaj. The magazine quotes her as follows:

"I don't want to talk about it. But I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone's management, I get their number and I text them. It's an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015."

And on Kanye West:
"Me and Kanye are on such good terms now. It took a while... But I had to tell Beck this story earlier. I was at dinner with Kanye a week after the Grammys, he stops what he's saying and he goes, ‘What is this song? I need to listen to this every day.' I said, ‘It's Beck, it's on an album called Morning Phase, I think you've heard of it…' We just burst out laughing. And he says, ‘Hey, sometimes I'm wrong.'"

Selena Gomez Has Lupus

Selena Gomez recently sat down for an interview with Billboard Magazine, where she revealed that she has lupus. The magazine quotes her as follows:

“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke. I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.

I’m so fucking nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I’ve been working since I was 7. I’ve been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It’s so disappointing that I’ve become a tabloid story. The hate motivated me.”

On Taylor Swift:
“Taylor makes me feel empowered, like I can trust new people...We ran around taking pictures, changing dresses, dancing — super-cliche girly stuff, but it rocked. The way she cares about women is so adamant. It’s pulling me out of my shell.”

Looks Like Randy Quaid Is Headed Back To The US

Don't tell the star-whackers! The Hollywood Reporter announces that Randy Quaid has once again been arrested in Canada, and it seems this is one arrest too many. Quaid is quoted as stating, "They won't allow me to remain." Quaid said that his deportation could be delayed for a few weeks, but a US return looks inevitable. Once he returns to the country, he will have to face charges in Santa Barbara for a felony vandal case circa 2010. Quaid seems cool with it: "I probably will get arrested for all that. I'm perfectly willing to face all that stuff. I would like to have the issues in Santa Barbara resolved so I can move on with my life." He also clarified his remarks on the star-whackers: "I don't mean it in a literal sense. I think the people I'm going after would like to see me dead, absolutely, but whether they would act on that, I don't know."

John Stamos To Be Charged With DUI

Remember when John Stamos was pulled over for driving erratically, taken to the hospital, then immediately entered rehab? Well, police are finally going to charge Stamos for DUI. What substance was he under the influence of while driving? GHB! Yep, the same drug that the strippers in Magic Mike took. TMZ reports that Stamos was on GHB to "lean out body mass" for his new TV show. Either that or he's preparing for a career change - to a male stripper!

Instagram Pic of the Day 10/8/15

I just got sentenced to 30 days in LA County jail, and this is what I have to say about it: "Considering I've become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I'm ready to go to jail-- not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it's nice to let people know I haven't lost my edge. What can I say, I'm a jackass. My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too. I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up! To help give back to the City of Los Angeles, I launched a campaign today to raise money for at-risk, inner city youth, by raffling off chances to win an all-expenses-paid trip to be my red carpet, VIP guest at the taping of my Showtime comedy special next month, which is called "Steve-O: Guilty As Charged". There is a link to a new crazy stunt video I just made to let people enter to win in my bio. Los Angeles, I love you, thank you for everything!" -Steve-O (cartoon by @mikehillier_design)

Nikki Reed Proposes A New Diet...For Your Mind:

"A couple of days ago, Mom, Ian, and I went out to an open field to spend the day eating rice crackers and day-old BBQ'ed veggies and, more interestingly, to talk about how much we wanted our own farm one day. The quick picnic turned into a four-hour, cross-legged blanket session and a much-needed cuddle with Mom as my head easily found its way into her lap. We ate, we laughed, and then I got up to go for a solo skipping session down the cow trail. I heard my mom in the distance, her laughter getting quieter the farther I walked, her whispers about me always being "her little girl" becoming less audible. I realized in that moment how much I have always relied on this woman, no matter where we started, where it took us, or where we ended up. Her advice, her wisdom, and most of all her ability to put everything in the simplest of terms, have always given me just the perspective that I need; this is something I will always cherish.

I walked back over and sat down next to her. She asked me, as she does from time to time, what kind of exercise I had been doing lately. "Nothing new," I told her. "Just the usual, whatever I can fit in." "What about for your soul?" she asked. Now I knew what she was trying to ask me. Mom, for many years, has been the voice that gently whispers reminders to meditate, do yoga, enroll in school, and go for walks—anything that prioritizes exercising the mind and the soul in the same way I do my fitness routine. Being the money-conscious woman that she is, she would say through a smile, "You know, gym memberships and workout classes, those things cost money, but finding the time to quiet the mind and connect with yourself, that's free.""

Gerard Depardieu recently spoke out at a press conference in Russia about U.S Culture. The Hollywood Reporter reprints his remarks as follows:

"I have never wanted to be a U.S. citizen. That's totally out of the question. They have a very aggressive culture. And I don't like U.S. films. If the Europeans stop listening to the Americans, it will only do good. And I adore my Russian passport. I feel very Russian inside."

Meryl Streep Calls Out Critics' Gender Imbalance

Meryl Streep recently spoke at a press conference promoting her new movie Suffragette, where she called out the gender imbalance among film critics. The Hollywood Reporter reprints her remarks as follows:

"I went deep, deep, deep, deep into Rotten Tomatoes, and I counted how many contributors there were — critics and bloggers and writers. And of those allowed to rate on the Tomatometer, there are 168 women. And I thought, 'that’s absolutely fantastic.' And then, if there were 168 men, it would be balanced. If there were 268 men, it would unfair but I’d get used to it. If there were 368, 468, 568 ... Actually there are 760 men who weight in on the Tomatometer. The word isn’t 'disheartening,' it’s 'infuriating.' I submit to you that men and women are not the same. They like different things. Sometimes they like the same things, but their tastes diverge. If the Tomatometer is slided so completely to one set of tastes, that drives box office in the U.S., absolutely."

Rosie O'Donnell's Estranged Adopted Daughter Gives Interview To Daily Mail

Rosie O'Donnell's estranged daughter Chelsea, who recently turned 18 and left Rosie to go live with her biological mother, recently sat down for an interview with the Daily Mail where she talked about what it was like to grow up in the O'Donnell household. The publication quotes her as follows:

"I find her not genuine a lot of the time. When we'd go out, she was a completely different person in public than at home and I had a hard time with that. I feel she should be her real self, who she really is. She has this public persona; she will put this big smile on her face and try to be funny. She would always go up to people and want to hold their babies in public. She had this happy, friendly side to her.

Our dinners were mostly ordering in pizza or Chinese food. Rosie would eat takeout with us and if there were cookies in the house, she would eat them all. She was always coming into our rooms and asking if we had candy. She would drink beer when we were growing up but after her heart attack she couldn't. Now I think she drinks wine...Rosie wears tight Spandex shorts and a T-shirt around house. She doesn't get dressed and never wears makeup unless someone comes to do it for her.

Rosie's fuse was really short with me and she would yell. For punishment, we were sent to our rooms, no electronics, not being allowed to hang out with friends. Things were good when I was younger but as I got older, I became more interested in knowing about my birth parents and didn't really get along with Rosie very well."

On why she now lives with her biological mother:
"[Rosie] asked me to talk about what was going on and I didn't want to. So she asked for my phone and my computer. This was hours before she told me to leave. Rosie said that I was almost 18, and she got all this crap from work, and she didn't want to have to deal with that at home too. Putting out there that I am mentally ill was really hurtful. People think I'm this crazy person and as I've said, I have depression and bad anxiety — but it's been something that's gotten a lot better. I wouldn't say I'm mentally ill — I would say lots of people struggle with what I have."

Nicki Minaj Finally Talks Miley Cyrus Feud

Remember that moment at the VMAs when Nicki Minaj won her award, then looked over at Miley and asked "What's good?" At the time, people weren't sure whether the beef was real or if the moment was a staged part of the show. Nicki recently sat down for an interview with the New York Times Magazine, where she opened up about the feud. The magazine quotes her as follows:

‘‘The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls. You’re in videos with black men, and you’re bringing out black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how black women feel about something that’s so important? Come on, you can’t want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.’’

The World's Most Romantic Post

Looking out at the world at 35,000 Ft right now. As I look down and see our world, the structures we have created such as the buildings and the roadways I wonder. We have created such immense infrastructure to live comfortably on this planet, to prosper seemingly happy as our little world quietly spins through space... But are we happy? It's a question I'm asking myself right now after shaking a few thousand hands in the last 24 hrs. Hands attached to bodies that seem to be smiling. But sometimes if I go to their social network comments you'll find something completely different... I then log onto a news site, social media platform, or see the headlines on the papers as I strolled by them in the airport or in my hotel; mayhem, death and greed. Why and how, as a society, a civilization that is more advanced and more educated than anytime in history, state of the art I think we call it, are we so seemingly so unhappy toward one another and as a new result of technology: spewing our insecurities, pain, discontent and pure unwarranted rage into social media? All the while hiding behind our screens and our Twitter, Instagram or Facebook handles? We need some help I think. It seems we spend most or all of our time running around trying to find validation in anything- a new car, a new house, friends, family, clothes, Instagram likes or seeking commonality with others by spreading hatred on the social sphere, in our schools, our work places and even sometimes in our homes-all places in which we all now live. Do you think we need help? A spiritual and mental cleanse of sorts maybe? Or what about just quieting some of the noise an asking ourselves: Am I happy? I just read an incredible article that really gets into this and beautifully illuminates a place to come from regarding this-and a place to possibly go. I'm sitting next to the woman that wrote that piece and I truly truly truly encourage you to read it. I have 5 times: it's important. How does this sound:A diet for your mind?Read this piece by a true new voice of a generation, I think it will make you think... Or better yet, feel. It's truly AMAZING... http://t.co/xOV7SqF83o

What's going on in your world today?

Variety Blind Item - Ashley Judd Harassed By Industry Boss

By Ashley Judd, as told to Variety:

I was sexually harassed by one of our industry’s most famous, admired-slash-reviled bosses. I was making “Kiss the Girls” at the time, and here I was, a declared feminist. I had completed a minor in what was then called women’s studies, which we now call gender studies. And yet I did not recognize at the time what was happening to me. It took years before I could evaluate that incident and realize that there was something incredibly wrong and illegal about it. And I think that’s what’s happening in Hollywood with regard to female crew members, above-the-line and below-the-line talent, and pay disparity. We’re individually and collectively coming to a realization and acceptance that this is an entrenched part of the reality, and I think that talking about it is essential to the process of becoming aware, accepting that this is reality and then ultimately taking action.

In my example, there was no casting involved. This was just twirling the lasso. I think it’s very important to note that I considered myself empowered. He was very stealth and expert about it. He groomed me, which is a technical term — Oh, come meet at the hotel for something to eat. Fine, I show up. Oh, he’s actually in his room. I’m like, Are you kidding me? I just worked all night. I’m just going to order cereal. It went on in these stages. It was so disgusting. He physically lured me by saying, “Oh, help me pick out what I’m going to wear.” There was a lot that happened between the point of entry and the bargaining. There was this whole process of bargaining — “Come do this, come do this, come do this.” And I would say, “No, no, no.” I have a feeling if this is online and people have the opportunity to post comments, a lot of the people will say, “Why didn’t you leave the room?,” which is victim-blaming. When I kept saying no to everything, there was a huge asymmetry of power and control in that room.

This will be familiar to all the women to whom this has happened. I have a feeling we are a legion. I was with a bunch of other actors, and it was critical that it was actors: The exact same thing had happened to them by the exact same mogul. Only when we were sitting around talking about it did we realize our experiences were identical. There was a mutual strengthening and fortification of our resolve. One of the things that comes to mind for me: There was a really big feature that was done on this person in a national magazine, and there were all these allegations that they controlled the interview and had people listening in. And I thought, “If someone had come and talked to me, I don’t care. I will absolutely share that experience.” Part of the strategy that keeps girls and women constrained in their professional experiences is retaliation and ridicule.

The ultimate thing when I was weaseling out of everything else was, “Will you watch me take a shower?” And all the other women, sitting around this table with me, said, “Oh my God — that’s what he said to me too.” In that moment, I told him something like, “When I win an Academy Award in one of your movies.” He said, “No, when you get nominated.” I said, “No, no, when I win an Academy Award.” That was a small moment of power when I was able to contradict him and hold to my reality. And then I got out of there. And by the way, I’ve never been offered a movie by that studio. Ever.

I beat myself up for a while. This is another part of the process. We internalize the shame. It really belongs to the person who is the aggressor. And so later, when I was able to see what happened, I thought: Oh God, that’s wrong. That’s sexual harassment. That’s illegal. I was really hard on myself because I didn’t get out of it by saying, “OK, motherfucker, I’m calling the police.”
That’s what I should have done, because I’m smart. That also contributed to my journey of coming forward, because I felt bad about myself initially for the way I maintained my safety and got out of the room. When, in fact, what I did was exceedingly clever and brilliant and self-preserving. That’s another element of how we internalize those attitudes and talking to other people is so crucial is being able to take action.

A few years later, I attended a gathering for the literati in New York at the premiere of “Double Jeopardy.” I was getting ready to say something out loud across the crowded table to him. He looked at me and tried to shut it down. I was no longer that naïve ingénue who couldn’t identify what was happening as it was happening. I was getting ready to nail him on it, and he said, “I think I’ll let you out of that deal we made.” He knew I would come into my power.

This happened to be a man who did this to a woman. But this system is one that all of us participate. I feel like I could have easily had a breakthrough conversation about what happened with men as I could with those women. We’re all part of the problem, but we’re all part of the solution. This is one of those incidents where any work I needed to do on it was completed when I confronted him. Healing comes in a lot of different ways. Some things require intensive, contained work. Some things could be resolved with a good run or punching bag or an interaction with the perpetrator, in which one is able to take one’s power back.

Blind Gossip Exclusive Blind Item - How This Athlete Dodged A Bigger Scandal

A recent confession by a professional athlete was actually made to prevent him from being exposed and punished for a more serious problem!

His sport has a drug treatment and prevention plan that they run in conjunction with the union. Pot, coke, etc. are considered “drugs of abuse.” Alcohol is not considered a “drug of abuse.” If an athlete is tested and found to have a “drug of abuse” in his system, he faces a whole host of serious disciplinary actions, including involuntary suspension.

An insider tells us that our Athlete voluntarily “copped to a lesser charge (the alcohol problem)” to avoid being subjected to a drug test – for which he would have certainly tested positive and received harsh disciplinary action, including a suspension.

[Athlete] is a druggie but he copped to a lesser charge (the alcohol) to avoid the drug test and having management and the union publicly come down on him.

Yeah he’ll miss [some big games] but his confession means that now he gets to go away to rehab and come back clean of drugs and alcohol and with no disciplinary action at all being taken against him! He also gets all the support and sympathy of management and the fans and everybody talking about how brave he is to sacrifice [some big games] and deal with his drinking problem! Hahaha. It’s all bullshit because he was just really saving his own ass and the team’s ass but that’s the way it goes around here. The last thing we need is a player getting suspended over a drug scandal.

By the way, his drug of choice? Cocaine!

Kardashian Korner

Kanye West recently sat down for an interview with SHOWstudio. Here's some of what he had to say:

On referring to himself as a "creative genius":
“Because otherwise I’m called 'celebrity.'...I’m called 'rapper.' And when they use those terms, it’s not in a positive way. ... I have to redefine and let people know exactly who I am...Excuse me, this is going to be a really true, straightforward statement: The majority of things that are popular now are really directly based on something that I’ve done in the past 10 years. You can pinpoint it."

On math:
“I came up with an equation that explains the way visionaries think as opposed to very calculated people. ... If you put two and three in front of me, I'm going to say, 'Well, two plus three is five, two times three is six, two divided by three is this, three divided by two is that,' and I'm going to come up with an average of all those things. ... That is what people marvel at. That is the calculation of the zeitgeist.”

On his legacy in the fashion industry and whether people will remember him:
"Of course. I'm Michelangelo. Of course. There was a time when there were people sculpting better than him. But he made David. So as far as that question goes, is there a time when he can go on the Internet and find a shoe people want more than my shoes? Well, go fuck yourself then if it isn't, and don't ask me stupid shit like that again."

Cate Blanchett Talks Hatred of Selfies

Cate Blanchett recently sat down for an interview with Yahoo Beauty, where she talked about Selfies. The publication quotes her as follows, as reprinted by Us Weekly:

"People constantly are taking pictures of ourselves to send them to people to see if they like me, 'Do they like me?' It's pathetic, the whole thing about people worrying about what other people are going to think. I just can't handle it. Of course you want people to go see the film that you make, of course you want them to enjoy them. But I'm not out there saying, 'Do they like the way I look?'… You have to say, 'This is what I'm doing right now.' It comes back to self-respect. It's this huge thing: 'Like me! Like me!' The like and dislike is just totally primary schoolyard. I cannot for the life of me work out why adults are participating in that shit. There is so much great stuff on social media, I don't want to be on a soap box about it. I think it's a genuine way to build community… But the downside with social media is it divides people really quickly and sets up rivalry and jealousy."

And on doing Red Carpets:
"Look, I understand, people get really excited about it. The dresses are incredible… But when it takes over and then you're asked to stand on this 360-degree camera, stick your toes into some device so they can beam your bunions around the world, it's like, 'No thank you.'"

The Gossip Life Blind Item - On Talking Terms

These two A-list reality stars are still on talking terms, despite the spin they’re putting out there. It’s just drama for their fading brands and dropping ratings.

Who are our A-list reality stars?

Rihanna Talks Chris Brown

Rihanna recently sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair, where she talked about her relationship with Chris Brown. The magazine quotes her as follows:

"I was that girl. That girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others. Maybe I’m one of those people built to handle shit like this. Maybe I’m the person who’s almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they’re not strong enough, when they’re not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing."

On whether or not she thought she could change him:
"A hundred percent. I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn’t understand him. Even after … But you know, you realize after a while that in that situation you’re the enemy. You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I’m willing to put up with something, they think less of you — because they know you don’t deserve what they’re going to give. If you put up with it, maybe you are agreeing that you [deserve] this, and that’s when I finally had to say, ‘Uh-oh, I was stupid thinking I was built for this.' Sometimes you just have to walk away. I don’t hate him. I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now."

On moving past the violence of her relationship with Chris Brown:
"It's not a subject to sweep under the rug, so I can't just dismiss it like it wasn't anything, or I don't take it seriously. But, for me, and anyone who's been a victim of domestic abuse, nobody wants to even remember it. Nobody even wants to admit it. So to talk about it and say it once, much less than 200 times, is like… I have to be punished for it? It didn't sit well with me."

Blind Gossip Blind Item - The Smear Campaign

Those who work in the television industry will find this blind item particularly juicy! It’s about a TV star – whose show is at the top of the ratings – and his smear campaign of a TV Executive.

Last year, TV Guy hired the Executive to run one of his businesses. While most readers would not know the Exec’s name, those in the television industry certainly do because the Exec previously headed up a very famous production company in Southern California.

Everything was going well, the Executive was performing fine, and the two men were close friends, hanging out together even when they weren’t at work.

A few months ago, the Exec went to TV Guy and asked him for a few weeks off. He told TV Guy that he felt that he was drinking too much, and that he thought he should go to rehab, but that he was concerned about his job security if he took time off.

TV Guy was surprised. He had gone out socially with Exec many times, and had known him for many years. He had no idea that Exec had a drinking problem. TV Guy quickly arranged for Exec to go to a rehab facility, and assured Exec that his job would still be waiting for him when he got back.

When Exec arrived at rehab, there was a letter waiting for him from TV Guy… telling him that he was fired!

Additionally, when he go home and started job hunting, Exec discovered that TV Guy had called mutual acquaintances all over town to tell them that Exec was an add*ct, that he been fired, and that it would be a mistake for anyone else to hire him!

We’re not attorneys, so we don’t know if it was legal for TV Guy to fire the Exec while he was in rehab or to smear his name like that. However, for a man who is always telling other people how to live their lives with integrity, honesty, and compassion, TV Guy’s handling of this situation certainly appears to have fallen short of those values.

Patrick Kennedy Talks Family's Substance Abuse

Patrick Kennedy recently sat down for an interview with 60 Minutes, where he talks about his own substance abuse, as well as that of his family. Kennedy will soon be releasing his memoir, "A Common Struggle: A Personal Journey Through the Past and Future of Mental Illness and Addiction." People reprints his quotes as follows:

"I am an addict. I'll always be an addict. But I'm an addict in recovery. I count my days. It's one day at a time...I don't tell, in this book, about my family stories as some way to talk about their story. This is my story. These experiences are embedded in me. My father went on in silent desperation for much of his life, self-medicating and unwittingly passing his unprocessed trauma onto my sister, brother and me. My dad never got to grieve. He had to be there for the country. He had to be there for my family. He had to be there for my uncle Bobby's 11 children, and John and Caroline...This is like breaking the family code here. I am now outside the family line. I was hostage to the family code that no, don't say anything about it. Anything you say, it's disloyal. It's against the family code."
